Wedding Music
Vocalist: Tyler Hughes (Friend of the Groom) - Tyler also works
with me at the Burlington Capital Group. He works in a different area, but
it didn't take him long to make me a target for his excruciating gym workouts.
Three times a week we were running stairs, doing box jumps, one legged squats, you
name it. He's also gotten me into playing basketball out here and has
similar music interests as I do. Tyler leads the music ministry at the
Omaha Bible Church and is very talented. I talked him into singing a
favorite song of ours, Amy and I, that is. Tyler and his wife Rebecca have
4 children and recently moved to Elkhorn, NE. It has been really fun getting to
know their family over the past couple years.
Pianist/Organist: Pat Ribar (Friend of the Vocalist) - Tyler
recommended the pianist from his church, so that they could rehearse a couple
times and they have worked together before. He also knew that Pat was talented
enough to play the music that we asked them to perform.
Music - The first song comes from one of my favorite artists, John Legend. This song is
from his first studio album, "Get Lifted". As soon as I heard his music I feel in
love with it. This song fit the situation, both Amy and I like it, and it has been
played at many weddings. I also knew we wanted Tyler to sing and I thought this was
a genre he could really excel at. We haven't seen or heard them rehearse yet and can't
wait to see this the day of the wedding. I'm sure it will be awesome. I hope the video
recording does it justice. It is titled "So High"

The other song was recommended to us a couple of ways. Ann had mentioned to Amy that
she had heard it on the radio, then one of the couples at our retreat at the church recommended
it to the other couples. It is by Matthew West and is titled "When I Say I Do". When I first
heard it, I knew why Amy liked it so much. It sounds great and fits right in to the other
genre of music that we like. It also has some powerful, heartfelt lyrics.
I will try to put recordings of these up when I get them, but for now, I'll embeded the
YouTube video for the Matthew West song and a link to the video for John Legend - "So High",
and remind you that they can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon or at your local music store.
